Sandblasting & Surface Preparation Contractor — Florida

Professional sandblasting, abrasive blasting, and surface preparation for industrial, commercial, and municipal projects. NACE CIP Level 2 certified with 25+ years of experience.

Sandblasting Services

🏗️ Structural Steel Sandblasting

Complete surface preparation for structural steel beams, columns, trusses, and fabricated steel. We blast to SSPC-SP 5 (White Metal), SP 6 (Commercial), or SP 10 (Near-White) depending on the coating system specified. Ideal for new construction, bridge components, and steel repair projects.

🏭 Industrial Equipment Blasting

Sandblasting and abrasive blasting for tanks, vessels, piping, machinery, and industrial equipment. We remove rust, mill scale, old coatings, and corrosion to achieve the surface profile required by your coating manufacturer’s specifications.

🏢 Commercial Surface Preparation

Exterior surface preparation for commercial buildings, parking structures, concrete walls, and metal facades. Sandblasting removes old paint, stains, efflorescence, and contaminants, creating the ideal surface for new protective coatings and paint systems.

🚰 Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Certified blasting and surface preparation for water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, lift stations, and storage tanks. We meet AWWA, SSPC, and NACE standards for surface preparation on critical water infrastructure projects.

🔩 Rust & Corrosion Removal

Aggressive corrosion removal on steel structures, metal roofs, railings, and exterior fixtures. Florida’s heat, humidity, and coastal salt air accelerate corrosion — our blasting services restore surfaces to like-new condition before recoating.

🏠 Concrete Floor Preparation

Shot blasting and diamond grinding for industrial and commercial concrete floors prior to epoxy, polyaspartic, or polyurea coating installation. Proper surface preparation is the #1 factor in coating adhesion and longevity.

Why Surface Preparation Matters

80% of all coating failures are caused by improper surface preparation. Before any paint or coating goes on, the surface must be clean, profiled, and free of contaminants. Sandblasting is the gold standard for achieving the proper surface profile — it creates the “tooth” that coatings need to bond properly.

At TrustedBrush, surface preparation isn’t an afterthought — it’s the foundation of every industrial coating project we do. Our NACE CIP Level 2 certified team ensures every surface meets specification before a single coat is applied.

Blasting Methods We Use

Dry Abrasive Blasting

Traditional sandblasting using garnet, coal slag, aluminum oxide, or steel grit. The most aggressive method for heavy rust, mill scale, and thick coating removal. Achieves the deepest surface profiles (3-5 mils) required by high-build coating systems.

Wet Abrasive Blasting

Dust-suppressed blasting that combines water with abrasive media. Ideal for projects where dust containment is critical — near occupied buildings, food facilities, or environmentally sensitive areas. Achieves the same surface profiles with 90% less dust.

Shot Blasting

Mechanical blasting using steel shot or grit, primarily for concrete floor preparation. Self-contained systems that collect spent media and debris, making them ideal for indoor applications and occupied facilities.

NACE CIP Level 2 Certified Inspection

Our owner, Allie Smaidi, holds NACE CIP Level 2 certification with Bridge and Marine Technology endorsements — one of only a handful of professionals in Florida with both. He also holds an SSPC Concrete Coating Inspector (CCI) certification through AMPP.

This means every sandblasting project includes certified quality inspection. We verify surface cleanliness levels (SP 5, SP 6, SP 10), measure surface profile with replica tape and digital gauges, and document everything for your records and warranty compliance.

Industries We Serve

  • Municipal Water & Wastewater — treatment plants, lift stations, tanks, pump stations
  • Manufacturing & Warehousing — structural steel, equipment, floors, loading docks
  • Bridge & Highway — steel bridges, guardrails, structural components
  • Power & Utilities — substations, transmission towers, pipeline infrastructure
  • Marine & Coastal — docks, piers, seawalls, marine structures
  • Commercial Property — building exteriors, parking garages, concrete restoration
  • Oil & Gas — storage tanks, secondary containment, piping systems

Sandblasting + Painting = One Contractor

Most projects that need sandblasting also need coating. With TrustedBrush, you get one contractor handling both — surface prep and coating application. No finger-pointing between the blasting crew and the painting crew. No scheduling gaps where a blasted surface sits exposed to Florida humidity and starts flash-rusting. One team, one warranty, one point of contact.

Service Area

We provide sandblasting and industrial coating services throughout Florida — from Orlando and Tampa to Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville. For commercial and industrial projects, we travel statewide.

Based in Lakeland, FL — centrally located for fast mobilization to any Florida job site.
